Domains

“oops! Sedo did it again!!” Sedo`s auction system is leaking again :(

Yestarday while I was browsing the auctions page at Sedo, I noticed that from the top, the first domains now were all ending in more than 8 hours……then if I clicked the first one it said ending in 1 hour and 45 minutes. And the worst thing is that I`m sure I have seen it with “7 minutes left” , earlier in the day.  Problems with prices too, sometimes I saw one price on the list and higher price inside the listing.

A Sedo representitive, who was contacted immediately regarding this issue , justified this with the following:

“When Sedo is aware of site downtime that affects a wide selection of auctions, we will sometimes extend the auctions. The auction bidding history page states the extension time, although the listings may not be fully indexed when this is noticed. This delay in indexing will make it appear as though the information is incorrect. However, all of the effected auctions, especially those that would have ended during or shortly after this time, have been extended for additional bidding. We recommend that buyers check the auctions to stay on top of new bids. We’re sorry for the inconvenience, but appreciate the understanding of our desire to maximize the effectiveness of the auction platform.”

After reading that , I was relieved knowing everything was fine…..till I discovered that ALL AUCTIONS were delayed between 526 and 540 minutes which is 9 hours !!!

Since the original 2 bidders contacted me by private message on NamePros , I asked them to make their offer at a specific time to cover all USA and Europe and now it`s just all messed.

Nuqe.com  had to end at 3 PM NEW YORK time: , and now it`s ending at 01.47 AM :(

While  ODYF.com  was ending just 1 hour earlier around 2 PM New York time , now it`s ending 45 minuts after midnight!

This is penalising my 2 auctions so I asked to Sedo to move their ending time back at the original ending time of the original ending day, moving them forward won`t be the same because I noticed less activity during week-ends. They were set to end around 3 and 2 PM New York time on Friday the 18th and that`s when I want them to end, otherwise I was not moving them to auction!!

If Sedo continues to have so many problems with the auction system, domainers are really losing faith in Sedo. Already it has more expensive commisions than TDNAM and eBay, and these others don`t have these kind of issues.

My question to Sedo is:  maybe you should let decide the sellers what time/day to end everytime you get problems like this?

I`m very unhappy about this and I bet many other sellers are…providing they know what happened since Sedo did not even care to send an e-mail about this.

Is this good customer service? Apparently the third .mobi premium auction and all the mess that i still unsolved was not enought for Sedo.

UPDATE: after some hours, it seems that the problems have been almost fixed: the ending time is now almost the original , just 2 hours later :(
